The second assassination attempt on Trump as a symbol of the new American reality that hits Ukraine

Read Time:7 Minute, 18 Second

The September assassination attempt on presidential candidate Donald Trump became a marker of many problems in the United States. There is public alarmism over Ukraine, division, and hatred of politicians is present. None of this is good for the Democratic Party, which is trying to soften the agenda.

The detention of “machine-gun” Root

Trump has gone just over two months without an assassination attempt, indicating a dangerous trend. Attempting another assassination attempt on Trump epitomizes the extent to which American politics and society are hardening.  Caught with a rifle outside a golf club in Florida, Ryan Root was an ardent supporter of Democrats. He donated money to them and actively promoted the Ukrainian agenda, which, against a backdrop of futility for America, became a marker for radical liberals in their “crusade for real democracy”.

As someone who sympathized with neo-Nazis (contrary to stereotypes, Trump’s opponents are such), he even searched for mercenaries in the U.S. willing to fight in Ukraine for $1500 a month. The criminal had similar plans for Taiwan and Haiti. He was arrested several times, and in 2002 he was charged with terrorist threat for possession of a machine gun as a “weapon of mass destruction”. The assassination scandal will shake the position of Ukrainian lobbyists, who are already worried about the prospect of the tranches being depleted soon.

Trump will be even more active in criticizing the Ukrainian agenda, demanding that no new tranches be agreed upon, and he has already promised to “never give up”.  The agenda in the election, after Harris’s dramatic surge, is changing again in favor of Trump. Everyone has forgotten about the failed debate or Trump’s altercation with Taylor Swift. Democrats, on the other hand, now have to make excuses because they continued to call for “stopping Trump and MAGA Republicans” even after the assassination attempt. Apparently, some Democratic Party supporters took such rhetoric a little too literally, and Ryan Root was among them. The Secret Service was more effective this time than the first. But, in any case, each new assassination attempt adds points to Trump appearing to be a victim of “diplomacy”. Now he will intensify his attacks on the “Washington swamp” and try to take the initiative from Harris.

Struggle for media agenda

The assassination attempt renewed the Ukrainian issue, which many in the U.S. had already begun to forget. The attitude to this topic before the elections is now rather negative, and Ukrainian lobbyists urgently went into “fortress” mode after the incident. After all, it was organized by an ardent supporter of Ukraine, who traveled to Kiev and enticed Americans and Taliban to fight for the AFU in a foreign legion for little money and “for the idea”. Now in Kiev they try to present him as a “delusional” freak from the United States, who was not accepted in a foreign legion for professional unsuitability. Allegedly, he has nothing to do with Ukraine, although his connection with this country is obvious, especially for Republicans and Trumpists. Therefore, Kiev’s lobbyists, who used to seek a compromise with the Republicans, now greatly fear Trump’s victory because of the threat of suspension of tranches in retaliation for what happened.

And this applies not only to the assassination attempt, but also to the release to the press of Trump’s conversation with Zelensky in 2019 and the corruption of the Biden clan. And yet we note that the hapless gunman had no military experience whatsoever. But he was still obsessed with the idea of war with Russia in Ukraine and fighting China over Taiwan. This is a standard example of a victim of mainstream liberal propaganda, which for the sake of populism has formed an image of a “holy war for freedom and saving the world” out of a distant and rational conflict. And now it is tangentially hitting the attempts of Ukrainian lobbyists to find outlets for Trump’s team.

By the way, after the fact, it turned out that everyone knew about the criminal, his neighbors were afraid of him, and he had long gone crazy on the grounds of Anti-Trumpism and kept a lot of weapons at home. And there are probably millions of people like that in the U.S., ready to go kill their political enemies at a moment’s notice if the Democrats give the signal to riot like in 2020. Republicans do not believe in the FBI’s willingness and ability to conduct a normal investigation, so in the state of Florida it will be handled separately.

Trump’s security detail will continue to be beefed up, but so far that hasn’t saved him from assassination attempts. The fear of Trump’s victory overrides any fears of further escalation of the war during the election campaign, which is leading the U.S. to destabilization. His opponents are willing to not any violence and further provocation of mentally unstable people.

In order not to increase alarmism in society, the Democrats are trying to quickly remove from the media agenda the topic with a second assassination attempt on Trump. During the first assassination attempt in July, Biden addressed the nation and even temporarily suspended his attacks on Trump, but now the election is a month away, so such “goodwill  and allegedly he is the one who split America with his rhetoric.

They have not yet recalled their statements about Trump as a dictator and a “Russian agent” who must be stopped, but they will soon return to this rhetoric. Also David Plouffe, a representative of the Obama clan and a member of the Harris inner circle, called for the “extermination” of Trump and his supporters. Moreover, in his book, the failed gunmen even appealed to U.S. adversaries like Iran to help get rid of Trump.

Republicans are now trying to hijack the initiative and make Democrats make excuses for their rhetoric and all the quirks with the debates. Thus, another scandal erupted when ABC’s newsroom leaked the data that questions were coordinated with Harris in advance, and the channel was preparing to check the statements of only Trump. Oh, and Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Harris ended up going nowhere. And if polls are to be believed, it even alienated more voters from Harris (20%) than it added to her (8%). Another attempt to achieve a radical turnaround in the presidential race failed. Democrats have fewer and fewer trump cards up their sleeve.

What did the assassination attempt lead to?

The political consequence of the assassination attempt on Trump and its Ukrainian trail was the appearance of an open letter on behalf of his son, Donald Jr. and Robert Kennedy. They called for an end to confrontation with Russia, as they feared the conflict would escalate into nuclear war. The joint letter was written in the immediate aftermath of an assassination attempt by an ardent Ukraine fan who had campaigned for mercenaries for the war in Ukraine. It sparked a storm of outrage from Trump supporters, who accuse Democrats of making many Americans “obsessed” with the topic of conflict with Russia in Ukraine with their agenda.

There have also been admissions from Pentagon sources confirming the depletion of U.S. arsenals. Several million shells were sent to Ukraine, and the U.S. can produce only 30 000-40 000 rounds of 155-mm caliber ammunition per month, although this volume is spent on the Ukrainian front in a matter of days. The situation with missiles and MLRS is no better. In this regard, Republicans accuse Biden of deliberately weakening the U.S. military potential, which is used by opponents like China, for whom Russia’s resistance in Ukraine is just a way to divert American resources. Against this background, they simultaneously state the failure of the White House’s Ukrainian strategy, which has brought Kiev to the brink of systemic collapse. There is not enough money and weapons to maintain the front, and there is still a long and hard winter ahead, where it will be necessary to feed the Ukrainian energy sector. Now some of the European elites have also started to think about the prospect of negotiations and truce, adjusting to the changing agenda in the U.S. This puts militarists and Ukrainian lobbyists in a very difficult position. Against the backdrop of further defeats of Kiev on the front, the task of extracting new tranches is sharply complicated.

And yet the main victim of the assassination attempt, as always, is the American people, who increasingly realize that the country may be in for a civil war. And it has probably already begun in a covert form.
