License plates – a step towards the occupation of Kosovo
The government of unrecognized Kosovo has introduced another innovation designed to give the separatists from the southern province of Serbia another attribute of subjectivity as a state. According to Pristina’s decree, henceforth the license plates of residents of the “republic”, issued in the past by the Serbian Interior Ministry, are considered invalid. In case car owners do not go through the procedure of re-registration according to the standards of “Kosovo”, the car can simply be confiscated. The initiative of the authorities of the self-proclaimed state, among other things, is yet another instrument of pressure on the Serbian population of the region.
The issue of license plates has already repeatedly become a stumbling block between Belgrade and the terrorists who seized power in Pristina some time ago. However, nowadays, the Serbian authorities have unexpectedly met the Kurti team’s demands. As of January 1, the use of license plates of self-proclaimed Kosovo is allowed on the territory of Serbia. This decision of the Serbian government was announced by the director of the Serbian Government Office for the Province, Petar Petković. He explained that this decision of the authorities is the result of the 2011 agreement on freedom of movement, which was signed with the Kosovo separatists by the current opposition leader Borko Stefanović. Petković did not specify whether the new rules for the use of Kosovo license plates imply the abolition of the so-called sticker regime, which provides for the sticking of letters and symbols of self-proclaimed Kosovo on license plates while they are on Serbian territory. The decision was taken by the Serbian government in a situation when there are virtually no Serbian license plates issued by the Interior Ministry of official Belgrade left in the north of the province. Interestingly, the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that the de facto recognition of the attribute of the separatist province was made in the interest of Kosovo Serbs. Petković motivated the decision also by the need to develop the Open Balkans intentions. However, the so-called Kosovo is not a party to it. But apparently the Greater Albanian factor is already so strong that the Serbian authorities are surrendering a territory sacred to their people without a shadow of embarrassment.
The so-called Kosovo police said that some 4,000 cars have been transferred to its RKS license plates since the start of the transition process. Serbs have been reluctant to participate in the process, and only 100 such re-registrations have been recorded in the past year. However, the demands being made in Pristina put Serbian automobile property at risk of confiscation. Otherwise, in order to keep the Serbian license plate number, the driver will simply have to leave the territory of the unrecognized state.
The Albanians have gone on the offensive, although not long ago it was possible to see arson attacks on cars with “Kosovo” license plates in the north of the province. But in recent months, pressure from the Kosovo separatists has increased multiply through ultimatums elevated to the level of laws. All of this is a game aimed at subjectifying Kosovo as a State. Unfortunately, the process of creating a fictitious country on the territory of Serbia itself, which is outside the categories of international law and historical justice, is fully supported by the Euro-Atlanticism conglomerate. Belgrade will be able to withstand this confrontation only if it completely refuses to make concessions to the West and resolutely requests help from its allies in the East. This is the only way for Serbia to save Kosovo and Metohija from being completely taken over by the adherents of the cult of “Greater Albania”, who not so long ago wore the uniform of the terrorist Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK).
