How the first weeks of ‘Trumpism’ went

Read Time:7 Minute, 13 Second

Once elected, Trump immediately began building his empire, which by the time he is inaugurated on 20 January 2025 should be fully prepared to attack political opponents in the U.S. and around the world.

Trump has gone on the offensive at the UN

The next U.S. ambassador to the UN will be Congresswoman Elise Stefanik from New York, who is a lobbyist for Israel. And importantly, Trump’s team sees the UN as an anti-American and anti-Israeli entity. Back in the early 2024 Republican primaries, candidates promised to cut off UN funding completely, and ideally move its headquarters outside the U.S. One of Trump’s closest associates and friend of Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, has called for a review of U.S .membership in NATO and the UN. In his first term, Trump has already cut tranches to the UN, which he sees as the centre of ‘globalist’ interests. The U.S. then pulled out of the human rights commission for criticising Israel.

The pressure on the UN will become even tougher now, especially with Stefanik as the U.S. ambassador. Two-thirds of Americans and the overwhelming majority of Republicans have a negative attitude towards the UN. About 20% would not mind leaving the UN entirely, and it is logical that this point of view is especially popular among the “Trumpists”. NATO has also come to be seen in a negative light in recent years. Many want to invest less in the alliance and work outside its framework. The isolationists in Trump’s team hold a similar point of view. They will increasingly work around international institutions, focusing on relationships with specific leaders. It is predictable that the international system will gradually decline, becoming more “conservative” and similar to the situation before World War II or even World War I.

Republicans are preparing electoral reforms

Trump’s team is already making plans to reform America’s dysfunctional electoral system. The “reds” do not want a repeat of 2020 with postal fraud in the next elections, including the 2028 presidential election, where the “Trumpists” are going to consolidate their advantage in the swing states.

This scenario has now been avoided, since Trump had too big a lead in all the “undecided” states, which now even seem “red”. But even in such conditions, the Democrats, thanks to their postal “magic”, are keeping all of America in suspense. They are still counting the incoming ballots in California and Pennsylvania. In Michigan and Wisconsin, the Democrats have already greatly improved their results, although they have not turned the tide.

The Republicans have prepared the following amendments:

  • declaring a day off on election day;
  • voting only with paper ballots, which will be counted manually without “mysteriously breaking” electronic machines;
  • mail and absentee voting should be reduced to a minimum, and at the federal level it is necessary to oblige to provide identification when voting.

This is the only way to minimize cases of fraud, and this is why the Democrats will make every effort to block the reform. They simply cannot win without mail manipulations, migrants and the dead who “resurrect” in order to vote for liberal candidates.

“Reds” to change foreign policy emphasis

Florida Senator Marco Rubio will become the next U.S. Secretary of State. “Little Marco”, as he was called during the 2016 primaries, once harshly opposed Trump, but has now become one of his closest allies. Rubio is closely associated with the Israeli lobby and is considered a consistent supporter of a tough policy towards Iran and China. And in the context of Ukraine, he advocated for an end to the allocation of new tranches.

Mike Waltz has been appointed National Security Advisor. He is also set on confronting China and will shift U.S. military resources from Europe to the Indo-Pacific region, as well as actively work in the Middle East. Waltz has already caused jitters among Europeans with his statements that the U.S. will no longer pay for their security. And NATO will face a major shake-up due to Trump’s plans to divide the alliance into mini-blocs. There will be a club of “privileged members” from countries close to Trump, like Hungary, and no special cooperation is expected with everyone else.

Trump’s closest advisers, Richard Grenell and Elbridge Colby, have retreated into the shadows for now. They will probably take official positions later, when Trump’s first establishment appointees make mistakes and are dismissed in a year or two.

The impact of elections on the economy

Trump’s victory dealt a blow to the liberal financial elites and led to a collapse in the capitalization of companies focused on the “green transition”. Projects to launch the production of solar panels and batteries, wind turbines in the United States will be frozen, and subsidies may be sharply reduced or completely canceled. As is known, the entire “green economy” without government support is unviable, and Joe Biden spent more than $400 billion in subsidies on it.

In addition, subsidies for the purchase of electric cars will be cut, although this may hit the interests of Elon Musk. In Republican states, all sorts of obstacles are already being put up for car dealers who sell electric cars. Trump promises to fight for the rights of auto workers, who will face massive layoffs in the event of a complete transition to electric cars. Democratic states, on the contrary, prohibit the sale of cars with internal combustion engines after 2030.

The United States cannot compete with the Chinese auto industry. And wind turbines, solar panels and batteries are also imported in large numbers from China, and this must be stopped somehow. Instead, Trump intends to invest in oil and gas production, removing environmental regulations. But it is unlikely that it will be possible to significantly increase production, since the depletion of oil reserves in the United States and the end of the shale boom will have an impact.

Trump to Take Control of Security

Preparations for personnel rotation are gaining momentum, Trump is already officially focusing on the fight against Washington bureaucracy. Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will receive mandates to purge officials, improve the efficiency of the civil service, and reduce government spending. American intelligence agencies and the Pentagon are expecting major purges. Trump needs to ensure that the employees of these agencies are subordinate to him, otherwise it will not be possible to carry out a military operation against drug cartels and illegal immigrants.

“Trumpists” will massively reduce the generals and “the bloated officer corps“, which has long been accustomed to sitting comfortably in the rear, rather than fighting. And Trump’s supporters in Congress are confident that after 4 years of Biden’s rule, the U.S. armed forces are no longer capable of anything. Now it is easier to break a non-working system and build a new one, although this applies to the entire model of governance in Washington.

The new defense secretary will be Trump’s favorite Fox News host Pete Hegseth, a retired Army major who served in the Middle East and has been a vocal critic of the Pentagon’s racial and gender agenda. Hegseth is a non-establishment figure who is personally loyal to Trump.

He is also similar to future CIA Director John Ratcliffe, a retired congressman who helped Trump fight off Russiagate in 2020. Ratcliffe and Hegseth will be tasked with fighting the “deep state”, which is now becoming Trump’s top priority.

The president-elect is beginning to appoint loyalists to head the US intelligence agencies. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will head the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). She was one of Trump’s vice presidential candidates and sent the National Guard to Texas to protect the border a year ago, and now she will be able to fight illegal immigrants at the federal level.

Trumps 2024 cabinet is very different from 2016, when the establishment set the pace and Trumps loyalists were in the minority. Now, on the contrary, they have a controlling stake, and mainstream figures like Marco Rubio have to adapt to Trumps agenda themselves. There will definitely be no repeat of the first term, and now Trump has a much better chance of winning the fight against the deep state. And the first weeks of Trumpism” were marked by the Trump Boyspreparing for battle.
