U.S. election results: the “reds” won, while the “blues” are shocked by their naiveté

Read Time:9 Minute, 43 Second

The presidential campaign showed the weakness of the Democrats at the strategic and ideological levels.  They made the wrong bet on Kamala Harris, got the rhetoric wrong, and ended up losing billions of dollars. Republicans, on the other hand, are now deciding who will be in the presidential administration.

Election uncertainty

Before the crucial day of voting in the U.S. election, almost everyone had ambivalent feelings. On the one hand, Donald Trump seemed to be the favorite, ahead of Kamala Harris in polls in all 7 “undecided states” from 0.5% to 3%. The sociological “Trump effect” may have added to this, with some voters who were shy of supporting him in the polls doing so at the polls. In addition, his vivid anti-system rhetoric seemed to win against the background of the inarticulate and weak program of the Democratic candidate.

On the other hand, there were opinions that Trump’s too vivid image would scare the moderate electorate, which would support Harris out of fear of radical changes. There were also fears that Trump’s minimal lead in a number of states would be leveled by fraud. Democrats could easily realize those fears in 5 of the 7 most important states where loyal governors were in power. They prepared the ground for the machinations with their alarmist propaganda, portraying the opponent as a devil and usurper. For instance, former U.S. National Security Advisor in the Trump administration, John Bolton, who has moved to the camp of enemies, hinted that Trump would not accept Kamala Harris’ victory and would attempt a coup d’état. At the same time, U.S. media from Rolling Stone to The Atlantic were spammed with stories about Trump’s “threat to democracy” and an impending coup.

The situation was uncertain for a long time, and on the day of the election the USA was hit by the usual electoral chaos. In some counties of Pennsylvania, electronic machines for counting ballots broke down at just the right moment, and local authorities tried to block the presence of Republican observers at polling stations. In the latter case, it was about the most problematic places on the type of disadvantaged neighborhoods of Philadelphia, where again there will be scandals with the collection and buying up of ballots, voting illegals.  Anyway, observers from the Trump campaign still managed to get in.

In 2020, observers were removed for trivial reasons. For example, for taking off the mask for a second to “take a breath of air”, which was considered a violation of sanitary norms. Or for leaving their post for a drink of water, they were no longer allowed back in. There was concern that similar or new tricks could be repeated in this election.

A multi-billion dollar failure for the Democrats

By the time final voting day began, the election in Guam, where they can win a majority in the local assembly, had gone well for Republicans. But Democrats led in states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, promising to count votes long two or three more days after Election Day. There was a realization that they would try to overwhelm the enthusiasm of Trump’s live electorate with votes from “Democratic zombies.” But Trump radiated confidence in victory, and J.D. Vance promised to try to rally America by fending off Democrat backbiting about the coming civil war. But the Democrats had so set themselves up with propaganda that they believed it themselves. They could indeed provoke a war against Trump if he got the upper hand. But more importantly, they deluded themselves about their excessive electoral optimism, while the optimism of their Republican “enemy No. 1” turned out to be justified.

By the middle of the vote count, Trump could safely be called the 47th president of the United States.  A nervous election night was very productive for the Republicans, Trump managed to surpass his 2020 election numbers in almost all states. By then, he was immediately predicted to win Georgia and North Carolina, but that was just the beginning. Trump was already doing well in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, where the “Democratic miracles” had not worked and the defeat of the Democratic Party was foreseeable. Kamala Harris was already considered an outsider on the eve of the election, but she managed to “exceed” all expectations. Symbolically, a dark-skinned woman lost the support of Hispanics and blacks, many of whom supported Trump. Republicans had a very good result among young people, considered the electorate of the Democrats. At the same time, the Senate was already a close race for the Republicans, and the House of Representatives was closely contested.

In the presidential race, however, Trump’s lead was at once respectable, and Harris’ prospects were in jeopardy. States like Florida are now “red”, here Trump cleanly won with an advantage of more than 10%. In Ohio and Iowa, once also swing states, Trump also won easily. Democrats’ hopes of winning Michigan, Arizona and Nevada also quickly dissolved. Even then, Harris’s staff was already feeling a badly concealed panic, because the Democrats’ chances of victory were rapidly falling, and the situation in Congress was not easy.

The Harris campaign spent several billion dollars. In the best traditions of the Democratic Party, they were simply stolen or spent on useless things. After all, big amount of money and political technology does not help if your candidate is an outright failure, and if he is opposed by a strong Trump, who achieved the expected triumph despite the opinion of skeptics.

The presidential election, in which Donald Trump won before all the votes were counted, was indeed a triumph for the “party of elephants”. Electoral models recognized Trump as the winner in advance. He was leading in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and other “undecided states.” As we wrote above, Republicans were also gaining a majority in the Senate with 52 seats after expected victories in West Virginia, Montana, and Ohio.

But there were bad news: Republican candidates performed poorly in the House of Representatives elections. Democrats had a high chance of taking a majority there. The advantage of a few seats would have been shaky, but it was also enough to cause a lot of problems for Trump. If the Democrats won, Hakeem Jeffries of Brooklyn would become speaker of Congress. He’s a Nancy Pelosi protégé who would be made the Democratic Party’s “chain dog” and brought down on Trump. Jeffries will also be able to launch endless investigations into Trump, and we should expect more attempts to impeach him.

Trump will be constantly in a wedge with Congress, and Democrats are using this time to regroup their forces. They will be preparing for the next congressional elections in 2026 and the 2028 presidential campaign, where J.D. Vance could be the likely Republican nominee. That’s a scenario Trump would very much like to avoid, but it’s not a sure thing. The Democrats have spent too much money to gain control of Congress. This could be their consolation prize for the next four years of Trump’s presidency.

The Democrats are now in a state of real shock after the election, although it cannot be said that no one warned them about the weakness of the Harris candidacy. Most electoral models gave the edge to Trump. Some, like the pollsters at Atlas Intel, were able to predict the outcome of the vote very accurately, but the Democrats stubbornly refused to believe those numbers. They were sure that if Trump won, it would be by a minimal margin, and then they could use dirty methods – from fraud to street riots. And in the end it turned out that Trump even won the national vote.

Moreover, he became the first Republican in 20 years to do so. The gap in electors was also quite large, so it is difficult to delegitimize such a victory. That is why BLM and Antifa are not rioting in the streets, and the Democrats are unlikely to block the certification of the election results in Congress. It is logical that, although significantly late even compared to world leaders with very liberal views, Kamala Harris still congratulated her opponent on his victory.

The Democratic Party is facing an intra-clan “civil war”. They will definitely nominate a white man for the next presidential election, such as, for example, California Governor Gavin Newsom. And this will happen because attempts to advance a racial and gender agenda quite predictably led the Democrats to total defeat. After all, Harris was dragged up all her life by a racial quota, and not for her talents. This is negative elite selection in its purest form, and it represents the accelerating decline of the liberal part of America.

The reshuffle of the “reds” in the administration

The Republican Party has other important issues, and many are already thinking about what the future Trump administration might look like. During his first term, Trump’s cabinet was a conglomerate of administrators who failed to work together and there was a lot of discord in the White House. But now the situation is somewhat different, Trump will try to take into his cabinet only those he is absolutely sure of.

The former ambassador to Germany and friend of all Eurosceptics Richard Grenell could become the Secretary of State. The Eurobureaucracy will definitely have a hard time, because they will be attacked on literally all fronts in order to support Trump’s allies, such as Viktor Orbán. The National Security Advisor could be Elbridge Colby, who is considered a pessimist in Washington, since he does not believe in the U.S.’s ability to fight around the world. He wants to direct limited resources in one direction, namely Asia to compete with China, weakening support not only for Ukraine, but also for Israel.

The Secretary of Defense could be Congressman, anti-Chinese radical Mike Waltz or Senator Tom Cotton, who is known for his call in the summer of 2020 to use the army to suppress the BLM pogroms. Cotton’s appointment makes sense, because in his second term, Trump will definitely have to fight off Democrats’ attempts to disrupt the stability of society and organize street riots. Utah Senator Mike Lee, who helped Trump challenge the 2020 election results, could become Attorney General; he will now sue the Democrats. The real fight will be for the post of CIA Director, where both candidates, Robert O’Brien and Kash Patel, helped Trump fight the liberal establishment. Trump has learned from the mistakes of his first term, and he is placing his loyalists in key positions, with whom it will be easier to drain the “Washington swamp” and continue to wage war on the Democrats.

However, this is already a question of the near future, which will become relevant after Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2025. Now we can congratulate him on his well-deserved victory in the elections, after which he can rest from the long struggle, trials and assassination attempts, when his opponents, trampling on any legitimacy, wanted to remove him from their path. The opinion of the Americans did prevail, and the manipulators who relied on their media and huge budgets have been disgraced. In this way, Trump’s triumph is not only his personal victory, but a victory and a new hope for American democracy, which is in deep crisis, threatening to bury the very future of the United States under its rubble.
