Separatism has consumed the British Commonwealth and American Texas

In Cold War 2.0, China and Russia look like multinational countries that are always in danger of separatism, which looks extremely favorable to the United States and Britain. But in the current realities centrifugal tendencies are not concentrated in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region or the Chechen Republic, and the Americans and the British suffer no less from similar problems, although they try to position themselves as empires. For example, the British Commonwealth suffers greatly from separatism. Thus, Jamaica will hold a referendum on secession from the rule of Charles III in 2024. In addition, Jamaicans still demand reparations from London for colonialism and slavery, including from the royal family itself, which has recently been accused of involvement in the slave trade. Most Jamaicans are in favor of becoming a republic, and China is playing a significant role in this. It is actively entering the Caribbean with investments, replacing British “old” money. In 2021, China has already succeeded in convincing Barbados to leave the British crown, and the next in line are Jamaica, Belize and Antigua and Barbuda.

Losing Jamaica as the largest hidden colony in the Caribbean would be very painful for Britain. London today is in crisis with regular changes of prime ministers, financial turmoil and vague prospects for overcoming the problems. Against this background, the UK is unable to seriously compete with China in this region. The processes of deconstruction of the British colonial system, which still exists in a new form, have only accelerated with the change of the monarch. There is a very cool attitude to Charles III because there are too many scandals around him. And even in Canada and Australia, the majority of the population is already in favor of becoming a republic. China can further work to arrange for Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands to break away from the British crown. The Solomon Islands are already in the Middle Kingdom’s sphere of influence, and even deny U.S. military vessels access to their ports. If China manages to squeeze British agents of influence out of there that will dramatically strengthen Beijing’s position in the great confrontation with the U.S. in the Pacific.

Still, it is worth noting that the gradual erosion of the British Commonwealth is an expected process. But separatism is surprisingly developing inside the United States, which once seemed to be a monolith, and today the confrontation between Washington and Texas is heating up in this area. The state’s governor is openly sabotaging U.S. government demands to remove border fences, and Texas authorities have placed barbed wire fences and lines of river buoys to discourage migrants. This is a clear demonstration of the state’s unwillingness to obey federal orders. After all, U.S. border guards, on orders from Washington, dismantle the fences and let illegals in. In response, Texas has sent National Guard forces with armored vehicles, helicopters and drones to conduct its operation against the migrants. These forces erect their own fences, finalizing Trump’s never-completed wall, and prevent border agents from removing them. At a certain point, the situation on the border escalated to the extreme, border guards and the Texas National Guard were almost shooting at each other. The White House is threatening Texas with a federal lawsuit for disobedience, and Democrats in Congress are demanding that Biden somehow punish the unauthorized state.

In response, Texas authorities declared their sovereignty over the southern U.S. border and their readiness to use any means to fight illegals. The governor reported the capture of 400,000 migrants and the discovery of caches of 422 million lethal doses of fentanyl, which the cartels were trying to transport across the borders. According to Texans, this volume would be enough to kill all Americans. In addition, Texas is actively deporting illegal immigrants to New York and Chicago, where a humanitarian crisis is already beginning because of the influx of migrants. In the state itself, amid the confrontation with liberal America, separatist sentiments are growing even stronger. After all, if the government in Washington does not want to ensure border security on principle, why should Texas obey it?

Mexico has joined the “war” between Texas and the federal government in Washington. Texas and Washington have been fighting for many months for control over the southern border of the United States. The state’s National Guard has been increasingly active in its military operation against migrants, erecting fences and ignoring the White House policy. As a result, the governor of Texas declared his sovereignty over the border and readiness to use any means to fight illegals, whose number reaches hundreds of thousands. Biden’s team responded by demanding that border guards let everyone in. Now this confusion in the southern states of the United States wants to take advantage of Mexico, and the president of the country Lopez Obrador called the actions of the authorities of Texas inhumane. At the same time, he called on all Mexicans in the U.S. to vote en masse against politicians who fight against illegals, and it is important to realize that in Texas the majority of the population is already Hispanic. Mexico-U.S. relations are only getting worse day by day. Lopez Obrador has frozen military cooperation with Washington and wants to ban the export of genetically modified (GM) grains from the U.S., which would be a disaster for American farmers. Lopez Obrador has nationalized one of the U.S.-owned ports. He is increasingly being compared to Hugo Chavez and is actively pursuing cooperation with Cuba, Brazil, China and Russia. Washington is afraid to threaten Mexico with sanctions because there is a lot of American business there, which will be nationalized in response. Against that background, the sponsorship of some NGOs by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has intensified, but those companies have now begun to be squeezed out of Mexico. At the same time, Mexico City itself is trying with great pleasure to rock the boat inside the U.S. itself, and, relying on the huge Hispanic diaspora, to try to destabilize the situation in an already divided America. But against this backdrop, the authorities in Washington do not care about the interests of their own citizens in Texas. This means that separatist tendencies will only grow and will not be limited to the second largest American state.
